Description

1) This patch provides an updated vmime library. It enables end users to view attachments containing chinese(utf-8) characters correctly in Outlook. 

Patch Name

  • 3.28 : mithi-patch-vmime_chinese_attachments_fix-p1-3.28.1.46_3.28.1.190.el6.x86_64.rpm
  • Services need to be restarted after installation and uninstallation patch :
/etc/init.d/qmail-queue stop
Apply patch
/etc/init.d/qmail-queue start

Patch Rollback without Uninstall

This patch has a special script to rollback the vmime update, if there is a problem. This will allow us to rollback without uninstalling the patch and any of its dependencies.

Steps :

* Check rpm version before rollback
    rpm -qa | grep ^libvmime
    Output should be libvmime-0.9.2-0.2.20170630svn.el6.x86_64
* /etc/init.d/qmail-queue stop
* /home/mcs/patches/vmime_chinese_attachments_fix_p1_3.28.1.46_3.28.1.190.el6/patch/rollbackRpms.sh 
/home/mcs/patches/vmime_chinese_attachments_fix_p1_3.28.1.46_3.28.1.190.el6/patch/
* Check rpm after rollback
    rpm -qa | grep ^libvmime
    Output should be libvmime-0.9.2-0.1.20170630svn.el6.x86_64
* /etc/init.d/qmail-queue start
