To Set proxy Authentication Through LDAP

Make the following changes to the slapd.conf file. For RHEL 3, the slapd.conf is in the following path and must be changed:

/etc/openldap/slapd.conf

For RHEL 4 the following two files must be changed

/etc/openldap/slapd.conf
/opt/symas/etc/openldap/slapd.conf
  1. open slapd.conf using vi
  2. Modify the following line
defaultaccess   none 
to
defaultaccess   write
  1. Then Comment the following line
include  /mithi/mcs/components/mithi-ldap-openldap/binconf/ldap_acls
  1. Restart LDAP Service.

Test with LDAP search.

ldapsearch -vx -b "o=cd, dc=connectserver" mail=postmaster*
