Diagnosis

For the recipient's mail to deliver to his mailbox, the mailbox location definition of the recipient should be valid and complete in the server configuration. This error indicates that the definition of the mailboxlocation is missing or invalid.

To confirm this, perform the following steps

  • Retrieve the recipient's mailbox location, using the command below (domain and user names are examples)
/mithi/mcs/bin/getuserproperties.sh --domain <acmecorp.com> --user <mary> --output mailboxlocation
The output will be the name of the server, on which mary's mailbox resides
  • Confirm that the definition of this mailboxlocation is present in the server configuration
vi /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/ent/servers.ini
Search for the entry of the server name, you should find an entry of this format
[ServerName]
name=ServerName
address=<IP address of the server>

Resolution

  • If the above entry is missing or not properly formatted, you may want to add it/modify it
vi /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/ent/servers.ini
Add the server names with IPs pertaining to this setup.
Use the format as shown below to add a record for each server.
[ServerName]
name=ServerName
address=
