Incoming and outgoing from remote are not working

Problem

Incoming and outgoing from remote are not working

Cause:

We have analysed the monitoring report sent.

  • It is found that there is no load on the server and server is 98% idle for most of the time
  • All the services on the server are running fine.
  • telnet to the smtp port is happening immediately from local
telnet localhost 25
  • When checked the logs, it is found that no smtp connections are reaching to the server from any remote servers.
  • When tried to telnet to Mithi's mail server from IIIM server it generates the same error. Where are mailing is working fine on Mithi's mail server. It responds immediately from out end

Checking all the above parameters it is clear that though the server is working fine no connections are reaching to the server from remote, as well as no connections are going out from the server. They are dropping in between the IIIM network. It may be at the firewall or proxy server or spam server if available.

Solution

Please identify the blocking happening in your network/firewall etc. and allow all the connections to/from the remote locations
