Users facing error while resetting the password from Baya web client in Connect Xf

Symptoms

  • Users facing the following error, when they try to reset their password from the Baya web client of Connect Xf
ERROR: Failed to change password. Webservice not found.Try again after some time or contact your system administrator.

Diagnosis

Verify that the web service port and IP address is properly defined in the configuration file

  • Open the configuration file /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/server_parameters.properties
  • Search for passwordwebserviceip and confirm it is set to the local server's IP address
  • Search for webserviceport and confirm it is set to 8443

Cause

If the above are incorrect, you can correct them using the steps given below.

Suggestions for resolution if Connect Xf 3.6

  • Backup the existing configuration file.
cp /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/server_parameters.properties /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/server_parameters.properties.bak
  • Open the file
vi /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/server_parameters.properties
  • Search for passwordwebserviceip= and change the value to your Master server's IP address. The line will look as below:
passwordwebserviceip=<Master server's ip address>
Master server's IP address cane be found here /mithi/mcs/components/mithi-ldap-openldap/conf/server/ldaputils.conf.sh
  • Save and quit from file.
  • Restart the tomcat service.
/etc/init.d/tomcat restart

Suggestions for resolution if Connect Xf 3.8

  • Backup the existing configuration file.
cp /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/server_parameters.properties /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/server_parameters.properties.bak
  • Open the file
vi /mithi/mcs/modules/mithi-bl/conf/server/server_parameters.properties
  • Search for webserviceport= and change the value to 8443. The line will look as below
webserviceport=8443
  • Save and quit from file.
  • Restart the tomcat service.
/etc/init.d/tomcat restart
